Mascara: Fiberwig Tiny Sniper

After reading about the Clinique lower lash mascara on Kat's blog and watching the recent Pixiwoo video on it, I became very curious about lower lash mascara myself. Although instead of hunting it down at the Clinique counter here in Japan and possibly paying a fortune for it, I found an alternative by Fiberwig caller the Tiny Sniper. The name alone was worth the purchase, just imagine you are fishing in your makeup bag for this item and you friend asks "What are you looking for?" to which you get to reply "oh, just my tiny sniper".

Lets first look at the brush, like the name suggests it is tiny. I actually found this to be rather nice, it allows you to really get all of your lashes, even the hard to reach ones.

Now lets take a look at the results, for reference, lets first look at my eye without any mascara on.

And then with the Tiny Sniper macara, which I also applied to my upper lashes.

Overall I like the effect it has, I generally don't use mascara on my lower lashes, but now that I own this I may do it more often. I am also now curious about the other Fiberwig mascaras, I have a few friends that love them so I may have to try a couple of them out.

And now for something a little different....

...a Face of the Day! I know I rarely write posts like this, because I find my camera to be complete rubbish for taking face shots. Yesterday I tried a new combination of colors and really liked the way it turned out so I thought I would share it with you.

For this eye (which I know maybe hard to see) I used:
MAC Femme Fi: as a highlight
MAC Prance: all over the lid and crease
MAC Tweet Me: all over the lid
Urban Decay Toasted : in the outer corner
Urban Decay 24/7 liner in whiskey
Fiberwig Tiny Sniper mascara

And here is the overall look:

Face:
Revlon brown pencil
MAC NC20 concealer
Missha BB cream #21
NARS Orgasm blush
Smiths Rosebud salve for lips

Hope you are all having a wonderful Monday/Sunday! I had a great dinner at a wonderful garlic restaurant called Original Jo's last night. I loved every bite of it, but unfortunately everything I have eaten so for today has also tasted of garlic!

More of my 30 for 30 backlog coming soon!

More surprise messages...

in my bathtub! The Winter weather here in Japan, much like the rest of the world I suppose, keeps fighting Spring for dominance. Because of this, it means I get to keep trying out various bath bombs from Lush. I will be the first to admit I would like some warmer weather, but I do love a good bath as well.

I recently tried Blueberry Bath Bomb, which is oddly known as the 恋の導火線(Fuse of Love) here in Japan.
Here is what the Lush USA website has to say about it:
The frisky scent of blackcurrants will tug at the corners of your mouth, pulling them towards your ears. Bergamot relieves tension and frankincense will wrap itself around you like a cozy blanket. All your cares will dissolve into a warming purple haze.

My intention when I bought this, was to try one of the bath bombs I hadn't previously used before. I was successful in that mission, in addition the purple color was also a deciding factor. When used it creates lovely purple water and leaves a little surprise in your tub for you!

What are my thoughts? Aside from the purple color, I really liked this bath bomb, it had a very relaxing scent and was calming after a long day of giving tests and sitting in cold hallways at school.

As I mentioned in my last Lush review, that the Frog left a little message. Well because I liked it so much I bought another one for Valentine's day and I managed to fish out the paper before it got too wet. Here is the note it leaves behind for you. The paper still smells like the bath bomb! :)

Days 9,10, 11 : 30 for 30

I hope you can all forgive me for my lack of posts recently. I plan to make up for it though and will play catch up with my posts from now.

sweater: Uniqlo, pants: AE, shoes: Steve Madden
Day 9:
Today was just another day at school. The weather which had been getting warmer took a sudden turn for the worst and got very cold, because of this instead of wearing a skirt with this sweater like I had planned to, I wore pants. As much as this outfit lacked originality, it kept me warm and I think that in this weather is more important.

cardigan: Gap, shirt: Zara, cami: uniqlo, pants: AE, shoes: Steve Madden, necklace: small boutique in Shinagawa station

Day 10:
The cold weather continued and even brought a little snow to my neck of the woods. Looking at this outfit, I suppose I really can't wait for spring to come.

cardigan : Macy's, shirt: Gap, jeans : Old Navy, shoes: Vans, cami: uniqlo, necklace: Glass of Venice
Day 11:
Today I was able to do the whole 90 minutes Bikram yoga and not feel ill that morning, I consider that to be a great accomplishment. After yoga I showered and got ready to head out to a birthday party for my friend's daughter. She just turned one and she is oh so cute. it was a fun and relaxed day considering it was snowing quite heavily!

I kissed a frog and I liked it....

Ok, now that I have your attention, here are my thoughts on the Frog Prince bath bomb by Lush.

The Lush USA website describes it as the following:
Simon's new fragrance is an aphrodisiac blend with sweet undertones; he used jasmine, neroli and rosewood to create a sensual fragrance for those longing for their prince - or princess - to come. It's not all about the fragrance with this one; it's also brimming with cocoa butter and almond oil for a luxuriously moisturizing soak.

I really had fun with this one! The green body of the frog translates to a bath full of beautiful green water that smells of jasmine and the red lips (made of cocoa butter) are the last thing left in your bath which leaves you a kiss and a special note. It's a small piece of paper that has a picture of a prince in the Lush style animation. Sadly my picture tore before I could take a picture of it. Though I apparently have another bath bomb in my collection to be used where he may appear, if so I will be sure to snap it up then.

I would definitely purchase this one again just because it made my bath time fun, though I am more likely to buy a different one because I like to try new things too.

I'll leave you with one last kiss from my frog prince!

Hope you are all having a fabulous Wednesday!

Day 8 : 30 for 30

shirt: Gap, skirt: Next, tights: marui, cardigan: macys, boots: Steve Madden, extras: gap cami, necklace: etsy

I think the sudden colder weather today had an effect on the colors I chose, though I do love blue. I like todays outfit and feel that the earth tones and navy really complement each other. I wore an etsy necklace that I haven't worn in a while which was nice and also discovered yet another way to wear it. I am still doing alright with the challenge, but I have to say I am starting to think about wearing clothes that I didn't include. I think it just goes to show, you always want when you can't have something.

Days 5, 6, & 7 : 30 for 30

First let me apologize for not posting these sooner, if you follow me on any of the various social networking sites you would know that its been quite a stressful weekend for my husband and I. Though thankfully after suffering through all the stress, anxiety and tons of paperwork we are now one step closer to our goal for this year. But enough of the excuses, on to the outfits!
Day 5:

jeans: old navy, shirt: gap, shoes: vans extra: white uniqlo cami, earrings: etsy

This past Saturday was a lazy day for me, I worked at my second job for a few hours, came home and worked on paperwork before heading off to yoga. My Saturday job allows me to wear jeans along with the polo shirt uniform so I generally wear a long sleeved shirt that goes well under my grey shirt to keep me warm.

Day 6:

shirt: H&M, skirt: For Joseph, tights: Marui, shoes: Steve Madden, extras...belt: Anthropologie, necklace: gifted

On Sunday I met a friend who I hadn't seen in over three months for lunch in Ginza. We went to this really nice but yet amazingly affordable Indian restaurant. For 1,050 yen we had a full lunch and got free mango lassi's with a coupon she had. Will definitely have to go there again.

Day 7:

shirt: American Eagle, vest: Zara, skirt: For Joseph, tights: Marui, shoes: Steve Madden, extras: necklace: gifted

No your eyes do not deceive you, yesterday's outfit very much resembles Sundays! I wanted to wear a more structures skirt, but I unfortunately hadn't included my black one in my picks. So I went with the black one I had included. My goal for this outfit was to look good for the office my husband and I had to go to. He told me I looked like an office lady, lol! I think the outfit would look better with a lighter colored skirt.

After such a busy weekend I am glad that I can relax a bit before things get hectic again!

Day 4 : 30 for 30

sweater : Uniqlo, jeans: Old Navy, shoes: Oriental Traffic, necklace: handmade by me

I dressed up my jeans a bit today with one of my favorite purchases from Uniqlo this past fall. I liked this sweater so much I actually own it in purple too, though that one has silver threads running through it. Today's outfit includes my last item for this challenge the shoes, I had to order these through my local Oriental Traffic shoe store and they were delivered to me. I like them because the flower accent can be removed if I want.

My husband and I spent a part of our day running around doing government stuff, oh joy. So while we were waiting in the ward office I posed for some pictures. Thankfully the ward office went smoothly and now I am officially Mrs. S in the eyes of the Japanese government too.

Hope you all had a wonderful Friday! I know I did, though I am dreading going to my part-time job tomorrow morning!

Day 3 : 30 for 30

cardigan : Zara, blouse: H&M, jeans: Old Navy, shoes: Vans, necklace: xmas gift from my father. extra: white long underwear for under my shirt...its too cold to go without this.

Today was Setsubun here in Japan, we ate ehomaki and threw beans around. In addition it marked the start of Chinese new year, so Happy New Year to all of my Chinese friends!

Having no work today meant is was another casual day. I have to admit I feel most comfortable in jeans, I wish I could wear them to work! I like the mix the feminine lace and the green military cardigan in this outfit. I only wish that instead of wearing black shoes, that I could have worn brown ones or at least ones a bit more girly. Of course my flats that I had on order, just came tonight....hours too late for today's outfit!

So far this challenge has been pretty easy for me, though it is only day 3. I have to admit I am starting to wish I had included more casual pieces, then again once I am working I probably won't mind that I left them out.

Hope you all had a great Thursday! Mine was spent going to immigration only to be told I had to go to my city ward office first, so you can guess what I have in the works for Friday! Oh the joys of living in a foreign country!

Day 2 : 30 for 30

jeans: old navy, cardigan: Macys, shirt: Anthropologie, shoes: Steve Madden, necklace: etsy

Today I was able to wear jeans as I don't have to work till next Tuesday! There wasn't a lot of thought put into this one, but I like it. And compared to yesterday its got more color to it. I spent the afternoon with NicNic and K. I really had a great time and hope to meet up more in the future! Sadly it seems that I was a bad blogger and didn't capture our lunch out on film! tisk tisk tisk....I suppose that just means we have to meet again.

Day 1 : 30 for 30

dress: Candies, turtleneck, cardigan and tights : Uniqlo, boots: Steve Madden, necklace: Target

It's the first day of this 30 for 30 challenge and so far I feel fine, but it is only day one. I dared to do something I haven't done before and wear the dress as a skirt. While I liked the effect, I think I should have paired it with a non-black shirt to bring more color to my face. But hey its not bad for my first day right? This challenge has definitely got me thinking outside the box!
